What guilt hath wrought . . .
He clutched the card she left him as he urged his broken and battered body to move. The information on that card sends Mark Cooke on another journey, one he would rather not go on. Forced by his own guilt, he ventures on a path to unravel the past, all while Jade lies in the hospital bed, clinging to life. He knows for a fact he hasn’t been completely honest with those he cares about. Has he been honest with himself?
Jade not only clings to life, but she fights for it. Finding herself in a world that’s not real, but is more real than anything she’s ever experienced, she stands at the edge of a pivotal decision. Does she push through the darkness towards the light, or forever be lost from her family and those she loves? Arriving at an answer is not as simple as it seems.
She’s prayed about it. She’s thought about it. She’s talked about it. Berta still has the same answer. She’s divorcing Craig. And with an intrusive detective inserting himself into her life, she stands firm on the decision. She halfway wants to give Craig up and move on with life, but one question stops her. Who is Detective Simms really?
Craig is alone. Truly isolated from all of his loved ones, on a ranch that isn’t his, he has ample time to think of his mistakes. He wonders if he will ever get the chance to rectify some of those mistakes, primarily the ones he’s made with Berta. He abhors being alone, so he runs down to a produce stand a few miles down the road just so he could talk.
In this final entry to the “When it’s...” series, does everyone find a way back to each other? Or does each one collapse under the pressure of their own guilt?

I am mad at this story. Don't get me wrong it was good. I just think when u first ended Berta and Craig when he went back to Texas. You should have left it at that. But to bring them up back in the epilogue to get my mind to thinking that may get back together was just downright wrong to do. I did not like that at all. Overall everything was good. I wanted to give it one star just for that stuff with Craig and Berta but I can't deny that this was a great read.Product details

Not sure how to describe this final installment other than relatable. We have all loved someone, almost lost someone, and lost someone. In the midst of all of life's moments, we know love covers a multitude of sins. Mark ,Alicia ,Jade, Berta, and a cast of some new faces they remind us of all the emotions that happen when those before mentioned possibilities happen and the need for faith during those times.
This series was amazing, I didn't want it to end. I could relate to each character as if I were directly in the story. I can't wait until the next edition!!
I was a little taking back of Jade's experiences while she was in coma. Glad that Craig, Bertha, and Mark was able to make peace with their pat
I enjoyed the series. It's not your will it's God's will. Prayer heals all. What's next ?? Can't wait bravo
This book took me through ups and downs. I definitely didn't think it would end this way but it was an amazing and so real.
J Evan Johnson explored what it was like to really have to search within yourself to come to the light from the dark. This trip had kept my attention from the 1st book until the end of the last book. At times I didn't understand some of the analogies he used in some scenes, but they came together very nice! Kudos Mr Johnson. It's been a long time since I read such a major mover from a male author and I have been talking it up! Keep striving sir. My hat is off to you!!
